Caliber Empowers Women Leaders

The Caliber family of brands, including Caliber Collision, alongside Caliber Auto Care and Caliber Auto Glass, proudly celebrates diversity in our workforce. This March, we celebrate Women’s History Month and honor the numerous, highly-skilled women at Caliber, respected for their expertise across all lines of business.

Our goal is to create a workplace where every teammate is valued, continually developed and recognized for their contributions to the team. Today, women are working and leading in nearly every career field Caliber offers – from the shop floor to our corporate support center.

According to a survey from Deloitte, Automotive News and Women at the Wheel, although women make up 50% of the U.S. workforce, they represent just 20% of the automotive industry workforce. With Caliber’s vision to be the company that improves the image of the automotive service experience, one way we are actively evolving is by attracting, inspiring and amplifying women through initiatives like our Empower resource group. Empower started as a one-off Q&A session two years ago with 30 teammates in attendance. The initial goal was to foster leadership and create a community among women teammates. The group quickly gained positive momentum across Caliber. As of March 2023, Empower boasts an expanded, engaged group of women teammates and advocates nationwide, all accelerating their potential through connection, community and conversation.

Empower embodies our purpose of Restoring the Rhythm of Your Life®, specifically providing a platform for female voices, professional development opportunities and a supportive community that helps enrich teammates and Caliber, overall. Virtual and in-person workshops are available across the country and focus on career resources, encouragement, education and practical knowledge that teammates can apply to their professional and personal growth.

“Empower has had rapid growth and continued success because there was a need for community among our women teammates,” said Ebony J., co-founder of Empower. “Depending on where a woman teammate is in the organization, she may have limited access to other women leaders to inspire and encourage her. Empower has created a community of women and allies to support and help women reach their full potential.”

Ebony and fellow Empower co-founder, Samantha, saw the career and growth potential for women teammates at Caliber, which they furthered by becoming mentors to others in the organization.

There’s been increasing interest and participation in Empower since its founding in 2021. This is a testament to the women of Caliber, who are truly interested in lifting each other up. Empower is building a sense of community and belonging among the women of Caliber and their allies by providing access to meaningful opportunities to connect, whether in-person or online. This is a differentiator for Caliber, and we believe serves as both a talent attraction and retention tool while helping further diversify our workforce. We know that a gender diverse workforce drives profitability and value creation; in other words, it’s good for business.
